2018 KRACH Rankings (FINAL) - Tournament Qualification/Seeding

KRACH will be used as a method to determine the final two qualifiers for the WCCHA Tournament as well as seeding for the tournament. For a basic explanation of how the system works, CLICK HERE. The highest two teams in the KRACH rankings not otherwise qualified for the tournament (the top three teams from each division automatically qualify) will take the 7th and 8th spot, respectively. To determine seeding (#1-#8), the qualified teams will be placed via their KRACH ranking.

The first KRACH Ranking for the 2018 WCCHA season will be released following completion of play over the Nov. 3 - Nov. 5 weekend. The rankings will then be updated each week, with the final rankings released on February 4th ahead of the 2018 WCCHA Tournament. The KRACH rankings will include all games contested between WCCHA teams, including both divisional and inter-divisional games. Games against non-conference opponents will not be included.

2018 WCCHA Tournament

 

The 2018 WCCHA Tournament will be held February 9-11, 2018 at theSchwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. The winner of this season's league tournament will be crowned the 2018 WCCHA Champion and take home the Carla Berg Cup. In addition, this year's WCCHA Champion will earn the league autobid to the ACHA DII Central Regional Tournament (if not otherwise qualified via rankings).

The regular season standings will be used to determine qualification and seeding for the tournament. The top three teams from each division will automatically qualify, with the final two spots going to the highest 2 teams in the KRACH rankings not otherwise qualified. This will provide balance to the tournament field should one Division be particularly strong in a given season.

The 8 qualified teams will take part in a full-bracketed tournament, with quarterfinals played Friday, semifinals/consolations on Saturday, and the Championship round on Sunday.
