Event Information

The 2017 ACHA DII All-Star Challenge will take place April 7-9, 2017 at the Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The event features 11 teams, 10 representing ACHA DII leagues from across the country and one “Independent” team, battling for the biannual title of “Best League in the Land.” This fun, competitive event includes 5-6 games per team, with 4-5 first round games followed by a seeded final game.

All games will be conducted with 2 – 25 minute periods. Standings points (2) will be awarded for "period wins" as well as final scores (3). Games on Sunday will be assigned based on final standings, with adjustments made for necessary travel plans.

The 2017 ACHA DII All Star Challenge will take place in April 7-9, 2017 at the Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

The WCCHA plans to send an "All-Star" team to compete against other conferences from across the country in this competitive and fun event. An application process will be open to all currently-rostered players on WCCHA teams or from identified affiliate teams within the WCCHA's geographic region. If required based on the number of interested skaters, players will be selected based on a number of criteria (including, but not limited to: year in school, years played in ACHA/WCCHA, statistics, role with current team, league awards, interest in playing for ACHA DII Selects, School represented, previous interest in playing for the WCCHA All-Stars).

Players will stay at the Embassy Suites-Valley Forge, about 14 miles from Ice Line and 30 miles from Philadelphia International Airport.

The event will include one practice on the evening on Thursday, April 6, following by 4-5 games Friday-Sunday morning.

The league will select up to 14 forwards, 8 defensemen and 3 goalies to attend the event.

For logistical reasons, players will be individually responsible for travel to and from the event. Attendees are expected to arrive by 5 PM on Thursday, April 6 and should not plan to depart before 1 PM on Sunday, April 9. Please check with the Commissioner before booking any plans that might conflict with these parameters.

COSTS: The WCCHA will cover the following costs: hotels (3 nights + breakfast included), league entry fee, practice ice fee, uniforms (jersey + socks). Players will need to pay: $50 participation fee, travel, lunch/dinner, incidentals.

***The participation fee will be waived for any eligible players selected as first or second team All-Conference or to the All-Tournament Team during the 2015-2016 or 2016-2017 seasons. For players selected as honorable mention those seasons, the fee is a reduced $30.

APPLICATION PROCESS: The online application will be provided by email directly to registered players. If you did not recieve the invitation to apply, please email the commissioner directly (see below). The application is open to all currently registered, rostered and eligible WCCHA players as of Spring Semester 2017.

All applications are due by February 13, 2017. Selections will be made by February 14, 2017 with players notified by email, and confirmation/acceptance of invitation will be required by February 18, 2017. In the event of decline, alternatives will then be invited to replace those roster spots. Applicable Player Fees will be due by March 1, 2017.
